How to connect remotely to SAP HANA
After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
• Establish a remote service connection for SAP HANA
Business Scenario
In additon to run on site configuration tool, SAP recommends to establish solution manager connectivity and configure remote service connection (via SAP router)
Remote service connection can be established through SAP Router
New connection type allows SAP support to access customer databases via local SAP HANA studio installation.
To get secure remote access to a customer system, following connections are required
- R/3 support
- HTTP connect – URL access
- Windows terminal server
- Early watch
- SAP solution manager
- SolMan Diagnostics

SAP router installation is required at customer site.

A user with monitoring roles has to be specified.
Historical data can be looked up (schema _SYS_STATISTICS)
Public role can also be specified.
Monitoring views data can be looked up (schema SYS)
SAP Business Objects Enterprise can be connected to SAP Solution Manager.
SAP Business Objects Central Management Console (CMC) can be connected via HTTP connect.
