Using CDS View as source for Open ODS View in BW4HANA

In the previous post, we have built CDS view ZSVIEWFLIGHT.

Now in BW modeling tools in Eclipse, create Open ODS View based on the CDS View created above.

Select Create New Open ODS View in the context menu of your InfoArea.

Enter the name and description and select the radio buttons Facts, Database Table or View and Owner/Schema. Choose Next.

On the Select DB Object schema dialog box, type S/4HANA system schema name, choose it from the list and select Next.

In the select DB Object Screen, type ZSVIEWFLIGHT, select the view and choose Next.

On the Select source system dialog box, select the existing radio button, then select your S/4HANA source system and choose Finish.

Activate the Open ODS View.

Use the Preview icon to preview the data and optionally use the icons to add rows or columns.

Note:

Open ODS view can be further modeled using other BW objects and it can combine S/4HANA operational data with BW enterprise/global data.
